Encouraging Art Engagement

In-Step With Others

In cyberspace, it seems some things disperse quickly. I certainly hope that is the case with this info. Here are 2 scenarios to consider here on earth.  Help Tues. Nov. 13, within the hours of 10:30-1:30 and Wed. Nov. 14, 10:30-3:00 with your creativity, adding to an Oakland Holiday Parade float at the Center where I work. The Malonga Casquelourd Center for the Arts, previously known as the Alice Arts Center is located at 1428 Alice St., off 14th St.  Got things that are light weighing, that have to do with dance, performance, drumming, visual Art or holiday season in general, bring it along.

Share this plea for extra hands with anyone creative with their handiwork. The float has to be completed by the 21st of Nov….Yikes!

The other fun, is having a presence of your Art within the Prescott-Joseph Center’s Annual Holiday Fine Arts exhibit.

Long Life Foot Race

step with others who will support your efforts.

The Prescott-Joseph is located at 920 Peralta St., off 10th in West Oakland, 94607. There is a ramp. Also the Prescott-Joseph is near the West Oakland BART station, 3 blocks west and then right 3 blocks north. You or someone you know can travel during the holiday, knowing your presence is still here via your Art. Tell anyone who may want to deliver Art that is for sale, this upcoming Fri. Nov. 16 or Sat. Nov.17, between 10:30-12:00, in the Prescott-Joseph Center. The exhibit is titled “To Share the Light of Yellow”Insurance is the Artist responsibility, which gives rise to the belief the economy is turning around for Artists as well as many others. There is a request of $20 for up to 8 Art-works measuring no larger than 48″ height and width” There is a reception on Sun. Dec. 9 with a suggested $5 donation for non-participants. Please remember to bring a statement and Bio and allow time to complete a Participant Form. Prescott-Joseph retains 30% of your noted sale price. Please forward questions to me (510) 452-0403

There's the need to stay focused, organized and deliberate, to enhance connections, community and personal projects and remain healthy in every possible way! I enjoy framing items, painting portraits, fabricating fused glass objects, projecting a positive public persona all told, giving people the best I have to offer. Sharing my talents by tutoring youth & adults and counseling visual Artists, uplifts me as well. I very much like and reference Classic & Contemporary Arts of a multitude of cultures. Here's to self care and care for others!
