Where one treads or speaking the current phrase, leaves a carbon footprint, may matter. Closer scrutiny of what I can do in my Art to reduce waste, involves several friends, neighbors and buddies. They provide me with beer and wine bottles. Collectively, they enhance the meager number of bottles I usually have to work with. Cutting beer, wine and window glass and fusing them to create “Art de objects” is my latest fascination. Continue reading

Women’s Exhibits
When coolness is felt, the fever has moved on. So much I wanted to accomplish within the 4 days away from work. What’s most needed is washing the bedding. I don’t want another occurrence of what just happened. Blah! Gasp! Jiggly!
Deadlines have to be met. There’s the women’s theme exhibit “A Mass of Voices; A Need To Breathe”. Then there’s the women theme exhibit “Women In A Public Space”. Yes! the first exhibit mentioned is planned within West Oakland’s Prescott-Joseph Center For Community Enhancement, Inc. This historical building’s location is 920 Peralta St., off 10th st. 94607. A public reception is planned Fri. March 8, 5:00-7:00 PM. The second exhibit is where I work, within another historical site, the Malonga Casquelourd Center For The Arts, located in Downtown Oakland, at 1428 Alice St., off 14th street, 94612. A public reception which includes an open microphone, is 3rd Thu. March 21, 7:00-9:00.

March 8, 2013 during the International Women’s Day Preview Public Reception 5:00-7:00 at Prescott-Joseph Center For Community Enhancement, Inc., located at 920 Peralta St., off 10th street in West Oakland. Public transportation from West Oakland BART 3 blocks further west and then a right turn 3 blocks north to 10th street. You’ll approach 2 very large trees in front of the Center. Spring Art Exhibits 2013
This quite a bit for me to pull-off…Perhaps I’ll see you at one of these occasions:
- Mon. March 11-Fri. April 26 “A Mass of Voices: The Need To Breathe” is a fine Arts group exhibit of images of women. Most of the Artists are San Francisco Bay area Artists. A few including I will share thoughts about openly expressing what is good, bad or being attended to as a woman. This is planned to take place during a free preview public reception Fri. March 8, 5:00-7:00, International Women’s Day. There will also be light refreshments. Continue reading
In-Step With Others
In cyberspace, it seems some things disperse quickly. I certainly hope that is the case with this info. Here are 2 scenarios to consider here on earth. Help Tues. Nov. 13, within the hours of 10:30-1:30 and Wed. Nov. 14, 10:30-3:00 with your creativity, adding to an Oakland Holiday Parade float at the Center where I work. The Malonga Casquelourd Center for the Arts, previously known as the Alice Arts Center is located at 1428 Alice St., off 14th St. Got things that are light weighing, that have to do with dance, performance, drumming, visual Art or holiday season in general, bring it along.
