Project / Workshops / Classes
You will not feel alone in the art class… There are no more than 15 chairs set-up, which allows you and all participants, access to individual attention. Trust that a group setting with me leading as a knowledgeable Instructor, will give You good experiences. I’m a patient person within an environment I like to maintain as calming. I’ve had my share of disparaging comments to overcome and stay inquisitive with the various ways to create Artworks.
However many classes it takes for You to tap into the substantial skills I’ve learned and continue to learn, teaching You will keep me positively engaged.
It’s fortunate to have skills that are considered worthwhile, especially these days. My credibility is 15 years with the City of Oakland’s Office of Parks and Recreation (OPR) as a Recreation Specialist Visual Art Instructor. The last 3 years I’ve offered classes within the historic Beaux Arts building that houses the popular performance center known as The Malonga Casquelourd Center For The Arts. That’s a rather longer name than the previous name, The Alice Arts Center.
This is what I’ve been told…Malonga Casquelourd was a drummer who offered his vast talents and advocacy for the Arts within The Alice before his untimely death. Subsequently the performance center was named after him. Previous to working within the Malonga (that’s staff’s affectionate reference to the Center) I worked 12 years within Studio One Art Center. I do get around. In fact I offer throughout Oakland, classes and workshops within Senior Residences Activity Rooms / School District Classrooms and Business Board Rooms. I’ve a history in the Art world before working with the City of Oakland, but I want to stay on point.
